OUR POSITION
Most maternal support stops at six weeks postpartum. We built Maternally because the truth is, motherhood doesn't stop there, and neither should the support. We walk with mothers from the first trimester through the school years, because the version of care a mother needs at 2am with a newborn is different from the version she needs at a parent-teacher conference five years later. Both deserve a place that understands her whole story.
Black mothers in the San Antonio and Austin corridor face maternal health disparities that are well documented and rarely addressed with the urgency they deserve. Maternally exists, first and foremost, as a response to that gap, built by and for the community most underserved by traditional maternal care, and open-armed to every mother who walks through our door.
San Antonio is also home to one of the largest military communities in the country, and we're honored to support military moms navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum through deployments, PCS moves, and long stretches without family nearby. And because faith carries so many mothers through this season, Maternally welcomes Christian moms and moms of faith who want that woven into their care, an approach grounded in Renada's own credential as a certified Christian mental health coach.

IN RENADA'S WORDS
My journey into birth work started with my own story: navigating birth and recovery without nearby family, carrying the weight of health concerns, and wondering where the safe space for mothers like me existed. I didn't want to be rushed through recovery or offered only clinical checklists; I needed rest, prayer, nourishment, and someone who truly understood the emotional layers of birth, especially as a woman of color. That's why I built Love Worth Work: to offer other moms the kind of care I wish I had: grounded, faith-focused, and whole.
As a trained birth doula, I support you before and during labor with presence, advocacy, and comfort techniques that reflect your values and priorities. I offer trauma-informed care for women of color, mothers navigating high-risk pregnancies, and families rebuilding trust in the birth process, whether you're facing pregnancy after loss, a medically complex pregnancy, or postpartum anxiety with no family nearby. I meet you there without judgment.
You don't need to explain your traditions, silence your grief, or shrink your hope here. I hold space for all of it, and help you walk into motherhood with support, strength, and peace.
I don't offer clinical care or medical advice, but I help build your recovery circle, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, as you heal and mother.
Renada is a mother, birth doula, certified Christian mental health coach, PSI Special Support Coordinator for Christian parents, and PhD candidate in Psychology. Maternally is part of the Love Worth Work family: a body of work rooted in self-love, self-worth, and the work it takes to live both out loud.
